Spoken English Assessment
This Spoken English Assessment is designed for Grade 3 students to develop and evaluate their ability to communicate confidently and effectively in English. The assessment focuses on essential speaking skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence formation, grammar, fluency, listening comprehension, and everyday communication. Students will participate in age-appropriate activities, questions, conversations, and speaking exercises that encourage them to express their thoughts clearly and naturally. The assessment also helps identify areas where students are performing well and areas that may require additional practice. Independance day Celebration
Alfa Public School celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic spirit, pride, and enthusiasm. The programme began with a warm introduction and the ceremonial reception of the Chief Guest and school leaders, followed by the flag hoisting and the National Anthem.The celebration featured a floral tribute to our freedom fighters, inspiring speeches, a March Past, patriotic songs, Hindi poetry, Kannada speech, and a lively series of cultural performances. Students from Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School participated enthusiastically in fancy dress, patriotic interactions, dances, drill dance, and a spectacular pyramid display.The programme beautifully reflected the values of freedom, unity, discipline, patriotism, and respect for our nation. The March Past, led by the Band Group and school houses, added grandeur and dignity to the celebration.The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and the distribution of sweets. The entire programme was made memorable through the dedicated efforts of the teachers, students, cultural coordinators, discipline committee, and the school community.Together, we celebrated the spirit of India and the responsibility of every citizen to build a stronger and better nation.Before a child can lead a nation, a boardroom, or even just a classroom debate, they first need to understand where they come from. That’s what August 15 is really about at Alfa. This Independence Day, our campus comes alive to honor India’s history, celebrate the freedom generations fought hard to win, and give our students a stage to show what they’ve been building all year — their talent, their voice, and their pride. Expect flags, colors, performances, and a program built entirely around our students: the singers, the dancers, the young orators who will stand up and speak about what freedom means to them. It’s easy to treat a day like this as a formality — an assembly, a holiday, a photo for the newsletter. We see it differently. A child who stands on stage and speaks about courage, sacrifice, or unity isn’t just performing history; they’re rehearsing the confidence to stand for something, publicly, in front of people who are watching. This week, our Grade IX students stepped beyond the textbook and into hands-on discovery, exploring the concepts of solutions, suspensions, and colloids through real experiments in the lab. Rather than simply reading about chemistry, our students mixed, observed, and questioned — turning theory into experience. It’s this kind of experiential learning that helps concepts truly stick, building not just knowledge but genuine scientific curiosity. Parent - Teacher Meeting
Little Scholars Academy (Pre-KG, LKG & UKG) The youngest learners on our campus can’t yet tell you how their day went — that’s still our job, and their parents’, to piece together. So when 49 of our 57 Little Scholars Academy families showed up for today’s Parent-Teacher Meeting, it wasn’t just an attendance number. It was 49 families choosing to stay close to their child’s very first steps into school, at the age when that closeness matters most. Families who couldn’t make it today will be contacted personally on Monday, so no child’s story goes unheard. The feedback in the room was warm and honest. Most parents shared that they’ve noticed real, visible progress in their child — the kind of quiet growth that’s easy to miss day to day but adds up over a term. A few parents raised a natural concern for this age group: how confidently their child is speaking in English. Our teachers were glad to reassure them — with patience and consistent practice, confident speech comes in its own time, and gentle encouragement at home goes further than pressure ever will. Parents also responded warmly to the small things that make a big difference at this age — classroom displays showcasing their child’s own work, the UKG Rank Holders list, and our new Weekly Conduct Chart, which parents found genuinely useful for following their child’s day-to-day growth at a glance. Just as important was our Student Recognition Criteria, which looks beyond marks and grades to recognize the whole child — kindness, effort, curiosity, and character. This is what a Happiness-First education looks like in practice, long before a child ever picks up a textbook: a school that notices the child, not just the classwork, and a family that’s kept close to every step of it. Parent - Teacher Meeting
No teacher, however skilled, raises a child alone. And no parent, however devoted, can see everything that happens once the school gate closes behind them. The gap in between — what a child is really like in a classroom, and what a teacher may never see at home — is where kids quietly fall through the cracks at most schools. It’s also exactly where we choose to meet you. Thank you to every family who joined us for our Parent-Teacher Meeting on August 1 — with nearly 95% of our families in attendance, this was one of the strongest turnouts we’ve seen, and it reflects exactly the kind of partnership we’re building together. Together, we reviewed each child’s academic progress, walked through important school information and the year’s upcoming events, and shared the annual school calendar so families can plan ahead with confidence. Just as importantly, we listened — every piece of feedback shared in that room becomes part of how we teach, coach, and support your child going forward. Parents shared genuinely encouraging feedback on the changes we’ve introduced this year — particularly our clearer discipline structure, our shift toward positive reinforcement, and our new Star Performer recognition, which celebrates students for effort and growth, not just top marks. Academic results were well received, and where a few parents had questions — including about the sequencing of question papers — our teachers were glad to walk through the thinking behind it. No major concerns were raised; a handful of subject-specific questions were noted and will be followed up on directly by our academic heads. One theme stood out above the rest: our Remedial Classes. Parents whose children have used them told us, plainly, how much of a difference they’ve made — and several more families have already asked to enroll their child, a sign that word is spreading not because we advertised it, but because it works. This is the quiet, unglamorous work behind a strong education. It doesn’t show up in a brochure or a campus photo, but it’s often the difference between a child who is merely present and one who is genuinely thriving. Kindergarten Activities
Little Scholars Academy at Alfa Public School celebrated Blue Day with great enthusiasm and excitement. The young learners arrived dressed in beautiful shades of blue, filling the campus with joy and positivity. The celebration included fun-filled activities such as identifying blue objects, creative art and craft, balloon games, storytelling, and interactive learning sessions that helped children recognize and appreciate the color blue. The event encouraged creativity, improved color recognition, and boosted the children's confidence through active participation. It was a delightful day of learning, laughter, and memorable experiences for our little scholars.
Spoken English Programme
Our Spoken English Programme is designed to build students' confidence and communication skills through engaging, activity-based learning. Each session introduces a new theme and age-appropriate vocabulary, enabling students to develop their speaking abilities in a structured and enjoyable manner. Through interactive strategies such as role plays, pair-and-speak activities, the "I Do – We Do – You Do" approach, pronunciation practice, sentence framing, group discussions, debates, and expressive speaking exercises, students learn to communicate with clarity and confidence.The programme is thoughtfully tailored to meet the learning needs of different age groups - Grades 1–3 focus on building basic vocabulary and simple sentence construction, Grades 4–6 strengthen conversational fluency and communication skills, while Grades 7–10 engage in advanced activities that enhance public speaking, critical thinking, debates, discussions, and confident self-expression.By encouraging students to listen, think, speak, and interact in English every week, the programme nurtures fluency, improves pronunciation, enriches vocabulary, develops sentence formation, and instils the confidence to communicate effectively in academic and real-life situations.

Classroom Management
Every parent asks it at some point: Is my child safe, respected, and settled enough to actually learn? A classroom can have the best lesson in the world — but if a child doesn’t feel secure or know what’s expected of them, none of it lands. That’s answered not by a rulebook, but by how consistently a teacher runs her classroom, day after day. That’s why, between July 4 and July 11, our teachers took part in an in-service led by Ms. Violet Mary Gollapalli, an esteemed educator with 22 years of teaching experience in schools across the United States and a deep, career-long commitment to early childhood education. The training covered exactly that: building classrooms that are safe, respectful, and genuinely engaging. Teachers reviewed school safety procedures, refined student conduct expectations, and worked on applying behavior expectations consistently — not different rules on different days, but the same clear standard every child can count on. Ms. Violet also led the rollout of a new Teacher Evaluation system. It keeps our teachers accountable to a clear, consistent standard, so you can trust that time in the classroom is time well spent — real learning, not just time in a seat. A well-run classroom is the foundation everything else is built on. Before a child can focus on a math problem or a paragraph, they first need to know what’s expected of them — otherwise, they spend their energy figuring out the rules instead of the lesson: guessing whether today’s expectations match yesterday’s, growing frustrated by things that feel unpredictable or unfair. A classroom that feels predictable, fair, and safe is one where a child is willing to take a risk, raise a hand, or admit they don’t understand — instead of staying quiet to stay safe. You can have the finest curriculum in the world, but a child busy decoding confusing rules won’t absorb it. That’s the same instinct behind the Lion, the Torch, and the Shield — courage to try, knowledge to guide, and the protection to fail safely while learning. You won’t see any of this on a campus tour. International Yoga Day
Our Kindergarten students celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and joy in the gracious presence of Mrs. Violet Gollapalli Ma'am.The session was thoughtfully led by our Sports Teacher, Mr. Syed Shaqeer Ahmed, who guided the children through simple yoga postures and breathing exercises in a fun and engaging manner. The little learners participated with excitement and learned the importance of staying active, healthy, and calm. The celebration was a refreshing and enriching experience that encouraged our children to embrace yoga as a healthy habit from an early age, fostering physical well-being and mindfulness.
Teacher Education
Every parent asks it at some point: Is my child really learning, or just getting through the day? Do they come home happy, engaged, and excited — or just relieved the day is over? That question isn’t answered by test scores. It’s answered by the person standing in front of your child six days a week. That’s why, between June 20 and July 4, while many campuses across Yelahanka went quiet, ours didn’t. We brought in Ms. Jenny Vo, currently serving as the English Learner Director for International Leadership of Texas. She is a Rice University graduate with over 30 years in education, including senior English-learner leadership roles across Houston-area school systems and past presidency of the TexTESOL IV Board — to lead our teachers through focused workshops on writing, reading comprehension, and vocabulary instruction. Then she did what most schools skip: she spent two weeks inside our classrooms, observing real lessons and coaching each teacher one-on-one on what to try next. The response has been overwhelming. Kids are lighting up — students who used to sit quietly are raising their hands, and reluctant writers are asking for more time instead of rushing to be done. We’ve even had parents tell us their child didn’t want to miss school on a sick day. And it hasn’t just changed the children — our teachers have found a new spark, walking into class with extra pep and real joy in watching a strategy click. That’s the gap most schools never close: a child can sit through years of class and still not be truly engaged — memorizing instead of understanding. It shows up later, when they’re expected to write a real argument or solve a problem nobody handed them the steps for. A teacher who knows how to make every child think, not just listen, closes that gap early — and builds a happy, confident learner in the process. That’s the same instinct behind the Lion, the Torch, and the Shield: courage to try, knowledge to guide, and room to fail safely while learning. You won’t see any of this on a campus tour. Financial Literacy
At ALFA, we’ve always believed a great education doesn’t stop at the classroom curriculum. Grades tell you if a child can solve the problem in front of them on a test. They don’t tell you if that same child can navigate a paycheck, a savings account, or an investment decision a few years from now — the real decisions that shape a life. Growing a child beyond the syllabus, not just through it, is what sets an ALFA education apart. That’s why, between June 20 and July 18, our Standards 7–10 students took part in a Financial Literacy Program built around the fundamentals of the stock market and smart money management. Students learned how the stock market actually works, the real difference between saving and investing, why companies sell shares in the first place, and how thoughtful, patient investing builds long-term wealth. It wasn’t lecture-based — through hands-on activities and real-world examples, students had to think, weigh tradeoffs, and make decisions, not just memorize definitions. The program was led by a team who brought real-world perspectives straight into the classroom: Sophia Gollapalli, a student at UT Dallas, Hannah Gollapalli, 12 standard student, and Jake Gollapalli, who works professionally in data and AI — alongside Ms. Shilpa, our computer science teacher. Learning from young people who are living these decisions themselves, not just teaching them in theory, gave the lessons an authenticity students could relate to. This is exactly the kind of gap most schools leave open. A student can graduate knowing advanced formulas and still not know the difference between a stock and a savings account — and that gap doesn’t show up on a report card. It shows up years later, in a first paycheck spent without a plan, or a financial decision made without the confidence to ask the right questions. Teaching children to think critically about money early doesn’t just prepare them for a test; it prepares them to walk into adulthood with judgment, not guesswork. This is the heart of our Young Lions Program — the signature financial literacy and entrepreneurship track that sits at the center of the ALFA Lion pillar. Where the Torch sharpens what a child knows and the Shield protects how a child feels, the Lion is about what a child can do with both: take initiative, make a decision, and own the outcome. Our Kindergarten students celebrated World Environment Day with great joy and enthusiasm. The little learners planted saplings to understand the importance of caring for nature, expressed their creativity through a fun environment-themed art activity, and delighted everyone with a lively rhyme and dance performance on protecting our Earth.Through these hands-on experiences, our young learners discovered that every small act of kindness towards nature helps make our world cleaner, greener, and healthier. It was a joyful celebration that nurtured a love and respect for the environment from an early age.
